How to Get an iPhone Experience Now: New Version of MediaMonkey Seamlessly Syncs Music to MP3 Phones

(PRWeb) February 5, 2007 -- Ventis Media announced a new version of MediaMonkey that supports some of the most popular music-capable phones available, including Sony Ericsson Walkman phones and Motorola phones. With this new version of MediaMonkey, users can get iTunes-like music synchronization for their MP3 phones today.

"The beauty of the iPod and iPhone experience comes in large part from the elegant integration of hardware and software components. Hardware companies like Sony Ericsson, are already selling beautifully engineered MP3 phones but the software on the PC side doesn't match the quality of the hardware. MediaMonkey fills that gap, giving music collectors the means to manage and synchronize music to their phones in an intuitive and integrated fashion," explained Russell Samuels, VP Marketing at Ventis.

MediaMonkey allows users to organize, tag, rate, rip, and convert their music collections with ease. To synchronize playlists or random music selections to a phone, the user just connects the phone to the PC, selects which tracks or playlists to synchronize, and then clicks the sync button. Tracks are then synced and can be converted on-the-fly to the format required by the phone. All of this can be fully automated so that the phone syncs as soon as it's connected to the PC.

"None of this functionality is rocket science, however, vendors such as Apple and Microsoft have little incentive to support devices that compete with their iPods, iPhones, Zunes and Windows SmartPhones," explained Jiri Hajek, VP Engineering at Ventis. "While third-party plugins exist for some devices, neither Apple nor Microsoft directly support MP3 Phones that compete with their proprietary devices, and that's where MediaMonkey comes in."

MediaMonkey 2.5.5 was released today and is available online in free and paid versions.
