Music Writer Makes A Name For Herself As Bay Area's Most Kissed Music Journalist

(PRWeb) March 14, 2007 -- Kathryn Vercillo is rapidly making a name for herself as the Bay Area's "Most Kissed Music Journalist". Having swapped smooches with some of the biggest band names in the Bay Area, she's got more than just her hand on the pulse of the San Francisco music scene. She isn't one to kiss and tell, so she's not sharing information yet on just who she has been known to kiss, but she is happy to share the basics of how she came to be the Bay Area's Most Kissed Music Writer.

In truth, it happened mostly by accident. Kathryn had always had a thing for musicians, attracted by the rhythmic hands of drummers and the liquid mouths of vocalists. Combined with her strong interest in music of all kinds, she found that when she dated, it was usually a musician at the other end of her keyboard. And as she became more involved in the art of writing about music, she discovered that she was able to write more easily about those musicians she had locked lips with than those she had never kissed.

She explains, "the thread that runs through all different genres of music is passion - whether you're strumming your guitar to play songwriter folk music or you're breaking your strings to play experimental hardcore, you have to be passionate about it to play well. As a music journalist, you're reviewing a whole range of different perceptions at any show, from observing the audience to really tuning in to the detailed interaction between the band members. Getting the chance to get a brief brush of the lips from one or more of the band members just adds in another dimension of sensory experience which allows for increased understanding about the passion behind the music."

After eyeing the pointed look of those who are quick to judge her actions, she smiles a not-so-shy-smile and adds playfully, "besides, what girl doesn't want to get kissed by the band?" but is quick to add "and it's only a kiss". She may be making a name for herself as the lady who has locked lips with musicians in every genre from pop to post-punk, but she has more than a pretty face to back up her reviews. Noted for her ability to paint a picture so vivid that you feel like you were at the concert with her, Kathryn's work has gained fans worldwide with publication online and in print including work for Skope Magazine, Sure Shot Magazine, Latino y Style, Indie In Tune, Vintage Rock, Diminished Seventh, and Live Music Blog.

In addition to her own writing, Kathryn co-owns and operates MoKa House, a freelance writing firm which provides services to individuals and businesses of all sizes. Her main focus with the firm is in working with musicians and other artists to improve their marketability and enhance their products. No, she isn't kissing every client that comes through the door, but she is happy to help with preparing press kits, artist bios and other media materials for all musicians. She believes that collaboration is the key to success in life and loves working with others on their creative pursuits. And if a kiss comes out of some of that collaboration, well, she's not going to complain.
